A year ago, I was privileged enough to install a piece at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer Memorial. This memorial includes 61 names of lives given in the line of duty. Three life size bronze sculptures were added to the wall; two officers flanking the wall, and one officer laying a rose at the site, on top of an illuminated thin blue line.
This memorial also includes a Forever Flame, always burning, to remind visitors of the tremendous sacrifice that officers make, and to honor and respect all of the fallen officers.
This project took over a year from start to the final install. Jacksonville holds a ceremony every year to honor the LODD in the community, and I am honored to be able to play a part in showing my respect for my brothers and sisters in blue who gave everything to serve and protect.
